What is Cyberbullying?

It is when someone attacks someone else through means of technology. This includes email, instant messaging, youtube, online gaming, text messaging, and social networking sites (MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Bebo, etc.).

With new technologies, victims aren’t just attacked on the playground, but in the comfort of their own homes. The home should be a place where children can feel safe and escape from the outside world. With the internet and cell phones, a victim can continually be tormented and humiliated over a large audience. The comment can reach millions of people with just one click and can’t be taken back. It is also something that the victim can read over and over again, making the comment ingrained in their minds.

Good rule to follow: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.
